FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
WHAT IS GEL POLISH?
Gel Polish is a professional only product that is applied to your natural nail plate or an enhancement and then placed in a LED lamp to 'set' the polish which will then last up to 14 days. It needs to be applied and removed by a professionally trained nail technician to prevent damage occurring, If you see a professional, you will not have damaged nails after removing the gel polish. You can continually wear gel polish on your natural nails for years without a break if you wish to as nails do not breathe.
WHAT IS AN ENHANCEMENT?
An enhancement is a term I use to describe what most people think of as acrylic nails. Its when your natural nails have length added to them.
WHAT IS AN IBX TREATMENT?
IBX is a professional only treatment and is the ONLY thing in the world that will physically strengthen and repair your natural nails. It is heated and set in a LED lamp to fuse the top layers of your nail plate together to help strengthen and repair any damage in your nail plate. It is an amazing treatment that is perfect for all nail types but especially helpful for clients who have weak, brittle nails either naturally or from being a nail biter. IBX is recommended to be performed every 1-2 weeks for a minimum for 6 weeks to see the best results.
HOW DO I BOOK?
Because I am busy with clients most days, its best to use the only booking system to book your appointment so you don't miss out on your preferred spot. If you aren't sure which service is best for you, feel free to either get in touch or book a free consultation where we can sit down together and figure out what you are wanting to achieve and make an appointment from there.
HOW DO I PAY?
I have eftpos in salon which is the preferred method but I do have a small amount of change available if you prefer to pay cash. Appointments are to be paid for, in full, before you can leave the salon. Credit cards will incur a 3% surcharge. If you have a gift voucher, you just need to bring it along with you to your appointment. Please note that Gift Vouchers cannot be redeemed during the month of December.
DO YOU DO KIDS NAILS?
Yes! I adore having little ones in my salon! They do need to be accompanied by an adult though. My age limits are:
Traditional polish - any age they will sit still, i've had as young as 3 years old in my salon before
Gel polish and enhancements - due to the chemical nature I will not do anyone under the age of 15 and they MUST have pre-booked and paid for removal at the time of their application appointment. This is non-negotiable.
DO YOU DO PAMPER PARTIES OR GROUPS?
Yes I do! Depending on the group size I may bring along another fantastic nail technician. I can accommodate groups both in the salon (specific hours only) or within the comfort of your home. Please send me an email to inquire about pricing as there is extra fees if I am travelling to your home due to needing to pack up my salon and set up with you. All groups must be pre-paid 24 hours before their scheduled appointment day.
CAN YOU HELP NAIL BITERS?
Absolutely!! I was a nail biter (and sometimes I relapse!) so helping nail biters kick the habit is my specialty, it's the entire reason I became a nail technician. Book in a consultation and we can talk about your options and how long/the cost I anticipate it will be to hep you grow your natural nails and kick the habit for good.
WHAT IS CLASSED AS A NAIL REPAIR?
Nail repairs can be classed as many things to different technicians. I class a nail repair as the following:
Extending or rebuilding a nail to match the length of another
Replacing gel polish that has chipped 3 or more days from last service
Using a strengthening product and silk to keep a nail tear from spreading further
